Connections - English Infographic

 CONNECTIONS

In English, we are learning about connections (how each of the texts relates to the overarching theme which is personhood and what it means to be a person). The five ideas below are the underlying themes in the texts that I had noticed. There are many more, but to me, these are the most significant. Soon, we are going to write an essay based on connections so I will need to go further into depth for these ideas and maybe find a few more.

The four texts I've chosen:

  • Blade Runner 2049, by Denis Villeneuve
  • Ex Machina, by Alex Garland
  • Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, by Kenneth Branagh
  • Be Right Back, Black Mirror S2 E1 by Owen Harris

  1. Kia ora Paige,

I was very impressed with your connections graphic. I have used this as an example to some Year 9 students at Mairehau High. They all informed me they loved the colour coding, the use of images and the clear text at the start that explains what you were doing. Thank you for sharing your learning.

Keep up the great learning and blogging,
:) Sharon - Te Ara Tūhura Education Programme Leader
