Equipment:
- Paper
- Tape
- Beads
- Blue Tac
- String
Method: First I gathered the number of beads needed to represent protons and neutrons, and glued them together with blue tac. And then I cut out circles of scrap paper to make the shells and drew dots to represent electrons. I then put it all together with tape. The result I ended up with is below.
Results:
Discussion: The three main particles are protons, neutrons, and electrons. Electrons are found in the shells/orbitals, and protons and neutrons are found in the middle in the nucleus. Electrons are the smallest and protons are the biggest. The charge of each particle; protons are positive, neutrons are neutral (no charge), and electrons are negative.
