English 2018 - Improving Our Writing Skills - Running

Running

Three of us. That was all that was left. Only we would survive to see the morning. We knew something we shouldn't know. There was once six of us, six teenagers running for our lives. We didn't know each other, but we needed to work together. If not, we'd struggle. And struggling is not the best thing in this kind of life-threatening situation. We needed to get along even if one was extremely infuriating. And so we did.

We made it to an abandoned warehouse. Or so we thought. We walked inside and found an extra long hallway with paintings on either side all the way down. We ran further.

"Wait!" We stopped.

"Look at the paintings."

I looked a painting that caught my eye, or should I say I caught its eye. They moved! I swear they moved!

"What the heck? The eyes moved." I said.

I looked at other painting down the hall and none of them were moving. I stepped forward and saw them move again. Jessie stepped up to a painting and looked into the painting's eye.

"Get down..." He mumbled.

"What-"

"GET DOWN!" He screamed.

I hit the deck and all of the painting's eyes started swiveling all over the place. A huge bang erupted at the door. The paintings eyes were all glowing red, looking like they were about to explode. The door behind us burst open. A group of FBI agents ran towards us. We jolted up and sprinted as fast as we could.

"STOP RIGHT THERE!" One of the guys said, we stopped at the door at the end of the hallway.

"OPEN THE DOOR!" Emily screamed. Jessie stood back and kicked the door wide open.

We ran out of the building and a helicopter was in front of us.

"JUMP IN!" A girl said.

"A-Aliyah?!" I screamed.

"GET IN!" She screamed.

Emily, Jessie and I leaped into the helicopter and they took off. Aliyah was flying the helicopter, Dylan and Jacob were sitting in the back.

"We thought you guys were dead!" Jessie screamed.

""So did we, we thought they got you guys." Jacob said.

"Thank god we're together again." Dylan said. He smiled.

We were together again and safe...

For now.
