Brainstorm - Art 2021

 BRAINSTORM

I made a brainstorm on a google drawing about the different things I cared about and could possibly include in my art this year. I was originally going to be doing cityscape but now I've changed my mind to Feminism/Social Conscience. I think I will care more about it and I won't get bored. I care about everybody's rights, no matter who they are or who/what they identify as. I care about equality, everyone is human, everyone should have the same rights and the same options. And I really like Jacqueline Fahey's art.

Art 2021 - Year 12 Level 2 - Mood Board

 ART 2021

Right now in art, we are finishing off our mood boards. We needed to find art from different artists and include an image of their art, their name, the name of the artwork, and the date. I've included a number of artists from all themes. Spiritual/cultural, environmental protection, cityscape/urban world, and feminism/social conscience. I haven't quite decided which theme I'm going with but I'm leaning more towards cityscape. I like Jeffrey Smart's work.

Art- Term 3 Week 8

 So far in art, I have drawn over half a dozen pieces but some of them are not yet finished. I currently have one painting. I hope to soon start on design. I only have so long left of the year until our folios need to be handed in so I want to make at least two artworks on the computer and a few more paintings. So far I am working on this octopus drawing;
(I know you can't see it very well)

Hopefully, after I have finished this guy, I'm going to start design. I'm also going to try to incorporate a piece of rubbish which features in the majority of the artworks. Maybe like a water bottle in each drawing. In the hand of the octopus, floating beside another sea animal, maybe even a drawing of the bottle on its own.

Making Meaning + Creating Meaning - English - RIP CHADWICK

 Black Panther

Summary;
King T’Challa of Wakanda inherits the throne from his father T’Chaka after his death and faces challenges to keep his kingdom safe. His skill and authority are tested when an ‘outsider’ to Wakanda overthrows T’Challa and takes his label as King. T’Challa has to undergo many hardships to take back his name as King and as Black Panther as well as keeping his family and his people safe.

Key Idea;
I think the key idea of Black Panther is black culture. Throughout many points in the movie, the culture is represented. Wakanda was literally hidden for so long because they were trying to shelter themselves from the rest of the world in order to protect from racism and from their kingdom being overthrown. Taking their vibranium. But T'Challa knew this was wrong, especially after he found out what his father had done. He understood why Erik Killmonger was so furious. This is a link to real life. Erik grew up alone, everything had been taken from him, he was just a child. Alone. Living in a city full of guns, drugs and violence. Towards the end, T'Challa worked to make it right once and for all. He revealed Wakanda to the rest of the world and helped to make parts of America where their brothers and sisters were struggling just because of the colour of their skin. He made sure no more children would have to suffer like Erik.

Chadwick Boseman (T'Challa/Black Panther) passing;
Three days ago, on Friday the 28th of August, Chadwick Boseman passed away due to colon cancer at the age of 43. He had struggled with this horrible disease for four years. He played as a major character in the Marvel series, along with many other movies. Black Panther was one of my all-time favourite superheroes and I will never forget him. I guarantee the world will never forget him.

Rest In Peace Chadwick Boseman, you legend <3

Gone but never forgotten.

Term 3 Week 2 - Art Update

Art Update
My kaupapa this term is looking at ocean animals and the effects pollution (rubbish) has on them.
(I also apologise for some of the photos looking very inadequate, good thing I'm not in photography)

This is the infamous turtle painting. I have yet to finish it because the water still isn't blended too well and the turtle's flippers (especially the top left one) were accidentally nicked in blue. The rubbish around him could be better too.

This is the pencil drawing (original) of the turtle, I may add some shading to the water but other than that I think it is finished.

This is a drawing of a dolphin surrounded in the trash, he has a 6-pack beer ring caught in his mouth and the water he is swimming in is absolutely horrid. I still have to finish drawing some rubbish around him but the main point of the drawing is done.

This is a drawing of multiple situations animals are stuck in due to rubbish in the ocean, I have been using this as a supply of ideas to do my bigger drawings, I'm not too sure yet whether I will put this on my folio board.

Cooking Methods - Home Economics

Lately, in Home Economics we have been learning about nutrition. We had to do a mix and match of cooking methods and post it to our blog.

Cooking your food with different methods are great to figure out how to lower salt, sugar and fat intake. For example, cooking your food in oil is not a great method if you want to lower fat intake. Also even just boiling your food can strip your nutrients from your food. You may notice your vegetable lose their colour. There are many different methods to cook your food and trying all methods is a great way to experiment.
