(I bet this will change drastically and some artworks will go on different panels but for now, panel 1 may look something like this)

Blog Post 4- Level 3 Art (Kaupapa Part 2)
Kaupapa- Establishing A Clearer Vision
My preferred subject matter is the Seven Deadly Sins. I will be using a mixture of how the sins show themselves in the modern world but also stereotypical visualisations of each sin (eg, a lion for pride, a dragon for wrath). I've decided to do this because it interests me a lot and I would like to expand my level of thinking (more outside of the box thinking of how I can represent each sin in my art) rather than thinking of the obvious. In Level 1 for art, my kaupapa was about ocean pollution and how litter affects sea animals. It was pretty basic and didn't really form a story like I wanted. The paintings were just of sea animals surrounded in trash or turtles with those beer ring thingies around their neck. Very obvious. Last year, in Level 2, my kaupapa was equality, femininity, and stereotypes between males and females. Stuff like a woman having to take care of everything around the house or how hard it is for women to get jobs with a larger population of male workers/vice versa. That one didn't form a story like I wanted either. A bit better than Level 1, but still not to my liking. This year, I'm hoping that I can complete my portfolio to the best of my ability. Putting in much more thought and dedication to each artwork and to hopefully create a portfolio where each artwork is connected in some way- telling a story.
Blog Post 9 - Level 3 Art (Reviewing Kaupapa)
How Is My Kaupapa Going?
So far, I would say that my kaupapa is on track. The research I have done on the topic of Seven Deadly sins and the work I have completed (whether that be class or portfolio work) is still relative. My kaupapa is headed in the direction I want it to go. However, after recent reading and the overall work I've done, I have had a few negative thoughts. Things like "should I have picked this topic?" Or "will I be able to create a portfolio full of work based on this?" But even so, I am dedicated to this topic now. I get bored of drawing the same things over and over again, as I have in past years. But I still passed those years and I will do so again this year. I am still interested in the topic of the Seven Deadly Sins and I am committed to completing 3 folio boards. I just have to overcome a few challenges along the way.
